Position Description:

The Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing all external communications (social media, email marketing, newsletters and website) and developing/maintaining the Editorial Calendar for ANGEL AID. In order to schedule publicity for events and speaking engagements, they will work closely with the Community Manager and Development Manager to achieve the goals of ANGEL AID -- our current target is growth from 500 to 5,000 Rare Mothers by the end of 2022.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Social media, emails/newsletters, and website management

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Establishing short- and long- range objectives and developing strategic and technical plans for implementing social media campaigns

  • Developing and executing Rare Mother and donor growth campaigns to increase exposure for ANGEL AID using tools such as paid advertising and publicity

  • Monitoring analytics to maintain optimal engagement and growth potential

  • Creating marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's Brand Guidelines and color palette, including flyers, website copy, and more

  • Writing and delivering ANGEL AID newsletter on a monthly basis

  • Work with Community Manager to amplify other nonprofits, advocacy groups, and Rare Mothers in order to arrange collaborations on a national and global level

  • Social media management: creating and managing posts on all major social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, possibly Pinterest in the future)

    • Includes customer service and engagement - i.e. answering direct messages, responding to comments, and liking other pages that we are trying to target as followers and/or supporters

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, marketing, psychology or communications.

  • Experience working with established global brands, ideally in pharmaceutical, technology, or women’s products or services

  • Previous experience in creative writing and/or graphic design is encouraged. 

  • Previous experience working with ZOOM, Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace and Google Suites (or similar platforms) is a plus
