Dr. Chelsey Hauge-Zavaleta is an artist, researcher and coach. Devoted to making space, witnessing, and telling the stories of families raising children today, she works at the center of educational neuroscience, visual storytelling and healing, and parenting. Dr. Hauge-Zavaleta is the co-founder and director of Guiding Cooperation, which offers parents and educators trauma-informed and healing-centered resources to support children to cooperate. Visual storytelling is a key part of all that Chelsey does, grounding her work with parents, children, families and educators in visual practices, creative expression, and deep community building. Dr. Hauge-Zavaleta holds a Ph.D in Education with a focus on social emotional learning and educational neuroscience. She has carried out research and taught at Mills College, the University of British Columbia and Stanford University.
